One of the most difficult things to deal with in life is regret. Sometimes something will happen, and you will respond in the wrong way, and for a while thereafter you will wish you had done it differently. But eventually, you accept the experience as a lesson learned and you move on with your life.
Do you care what people think? I do. And in a way I think everyone does, but that is not the point. The point, in fact, is that though we may care what our mother, father, boss, teacher or best friend may think of us and our choices, we still must be satisfied with how we chose to live our own life. In saying this, I am hopeful that these few examples may assure you that the choices you made and may regret, are only choices to teach you that life is supposed to be lived, and sometimes mistakes are the only way we can grow. So here are a few reminders to inspire you to live life with no regrets.
1. Not Expressing Your Feelings To The People That You Love
We all love someone. Whether it be our family, our relatives, our friends, our kids or that someone special in your life. We tend to hide our feelings and we rarely tell them how we feel. Life is too short for us to feel weird or shy when it comes to telling our feelings. Cherish every moment that you can and grab the chance to express what you feel. We are never sure if tomorrow will come.
2. Asking For Forgiveness And Forgive Others
We are all human beings and it is in our nature to make mistakes. Throughout our entire lives, we are going to encounter people who will give us problems, and most probably, it will end with hurt and anger. But as I said, life is too short for holding grudges. Make the most out of this life by forgiving those who have hurt us, and asking for forgiveness to those people who we have hurt.
3. Falling Once And Never Trying Again
Life is full of opportunities, and everyone is given the chance to grab one's dreams and goals. The only thin line between failing and achieving is how much effort and work you put into reaching what you desire. It is natural to fail, what is un natural is when you give up after failing once. That's is when you accept that you are defeated.
4. Being Complacent With What You Have
As I've said in most of my posts, you deserve the best. If you have the capacity to achieve what you want, give your all. And in the smallest chance that you fail, you know you tried and gave your best. However, if you are content with being mediocre, you accept the fact that that's the only thing that life has in store for you. So cherish the time that you have, and take the step to make your life better.
5. Choosing Your Life Partner
I believe that God has already paired us with one special person. And even if trials, problems, temptations and other hardships comes, no one should ever regret ending up with someone. After all, we were the ones who decided to be with that person and without them, we will not learn from our experiences with them and we will not be able to grow as a better person. Learn to understand why you end up with him/her because everything has a purpose.
6. Your Appearance
Everyone is made Beautiful. Every flaw, color, height or weight, built and body shape, everyone is made beautiful. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, that means that we are the ones who dictate what being beautiful means. Beauty is not all about the physical appearance of a person. Being beautiful means that may it be outward or inward appearance, you stay pleasing in the eyes of God. And that's what matters.
7. Being Born Into This World
This probably is the most important thing that you should never regret; being able to live. Being alive alone is a great blessing. There are so many people in this world who suffers from something that affects the length of their lives. Even if they wish to live longer, they cannot. Never regret being alive. You will experience hardships, that is natural and all of us experience problems. That means that you are not alone.
In the end, we only regret the chances that we didn't take, the relationships we were afraid to have, and the decisions we waited too long to make. So cherish the moments, do what you can and do not regret.
